Internship Description:
The Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CCEI) is looking for a Technical Lead and/or Assistant Producer Intern to work with our team to produce and edit professional audio and video content, including the Timely Topics podcast. The intern will be a highly motivated self-starter, collaborative team player, and capable of running production for a video-based podcast. Previous experience producing (capturing video/audio), using OBS, and editing videos, etc. is required.
The intern(s) may also be responsible for creating and producing both short and long form audio and video content that will be used in both marketing and promotional materials, as well as feature length stand-alone pieces. This internship is 5 hours per week, for up to 3 internship credits. Paid internship may be available following 1 semester of proven experience in the role. This application is for the 2025-2026 academic year (fall and spring internships available).
Job Responsibilities:
- Audio Recording: Be involved in recording sessions, helping with technical setup, ensuring high-quality audio capture, and ensuring a smooth recording process.
- Video Production: Be involved in video shoots, ensuring proper lighting, and shot composition.
- Audio Editing: Use advanced audio editing skills, such as removing background noise, editing out mistakes, enhancing audio quality, and adding music and sound effects.
- Video Editing: Use video editing techniques including cutting, color correction and adding graphics/effects.
- Post-Production: Help with finalizing episodes, creating show notes, and preparing for distribution.
- Equipment Management: Help maintain and organize audio and video equipment. Help maintain a neat and organized studio space.
Requirements:
- Ability to contribute 5 hours of work per week (mostly on Friday mornings from 9am-12pm in Hartford)
- Ability to work independently as well contribute to the team environment
- A keen eye for detail and an understanding of visual and audio aesthetics
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to take direction
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience creating promotional content, podcasts, etc.
